fun glitch right click and drag cursor out of game screen and let go the blade stays red and ready to attack and push 5 stars
soooooooo i managed to crash it...
how you wonder? well as it turns out: lasers stacked on one another can all spawn new parts from the same fruit.
example (cause of the crash):
if you're confused: there are 7 lasers in here, all hitting the same fruit.
so it goes:
whole fruit + 7 lasers = 7 cut fruit
7 cut fruit + 7 lasers = 49 halves
49 halves + 7 lasers = 343 quarters
game + calculating previous action = crash.
also some unrelated things:
having a bunch of objects pulled by the dozers causes lag and doesn't work.
toolbox objects get deleted when you travel to another galaxy.
the prestige system isn't perfectly balanced, but it is pretty fun.
blender "exploit" still exists.
cursors dont work, and if they would it would be unbalanced since you dont need to unlock them (i assume this will be fixed, just wanted to let you know).
thank you for reading my message, and for making such a great game.
Uh oh.. I think this could also contribute to the larger lag problem.
The laggier it is, the more things happen per frame, leading to more duplications, leading to more lag.. Whoops! I'll put a check to stop this
Thanks for breaking our game as usual :D
happy to test.
also this wont go on forever, just until you reach the split limit.
also also, this only works with lasers, since everything else that can cut has collision (except maybe the simple knife but making a set up with them would be boring).
unrelated: can you add an option to refund upgrades? or just disable the effects?
and please make it so it doesn't erase the toolbox items when you go to another galaxy.
This is such a fun game! I love the sounds, the music and the slicing. Maybe one thing I think could be added is the ability to remove the max cap on some of the upgrades after beating the game (or just increase the cap on e.g. fruits per second).
Hey OffByTwoDev, we added some more upgrade mechanics, including a prestige system in a big update today. Let us know what you think!
My favorite game in Godot Wild Jam #88
Very fun and satisfying
Loved it
hey so i found out that if you (with beyblade) get the blade(s) to lock at just the right place with just the right position, you can get them to spin super fast and basically become a blender, i got a video doing it, but dont know how to upload it.
also fair warning, if you move too fast it knocks them out of theright position and just becomes a normal beyblade lock.
also kinda related, while beyblading (normally, not like mentioned above) if you move your mouse fast enough or spin fast with enough levels in "get reel" the blade gets far enough from the mouse to trigger perfect cut.
and lastly, related to second, if you whip your mouse fast enough, you can move faster than the blade and make the second one move across the screen really fast too.
That first bug is awesome, tried it and its almost a balanced mechanic bc you can't move too fast
Maybe it should be an upgrade
This is an incredibly simple and fun concept.
Please add audio settings. 😅😅
Glad you liked it! Did you have trouble with the music or sound effects being too loud?
Neither was too loud per se, but I was trying to listen to a podcast at the same time and I had to mute the game in order to hear the podcast.
Obviously this is a game jam project so you have to prioritize the gameplay over any kind of options menu, but if you plan to update this at all after the jam, accessibility features are always a plus.
Appreciate the feedback - I’ve added some better music controls which should be available once the voting period ends and we can update the build :)
have the music controls been implemented? would love to play it while watching some videos and i can't find how to lower the music
Hey erpala! I have a jukebox with music selection+volume controls implemented on our development branch, but we are still waiting to update the itch build, as we are going to keep working on this game and have it on Steam! Once the store page goes live (hopefully in the next few days...) we can publish a demo and an updated build here! I'll of course be sure to send you a Steam key as well when those are available! <3
Hey GreedyRadish - we've pushed a big update including volume controls! Would love to know what you think!
wow. what have i gotten myself into. the beginning of the game was so unassuming, i was like oh cool i'm just slicing fruit with this funny kunai, trying out different swinging strategies. oh i was so naive. before i knew it i was spraying watermelons and exploding limes and opening parallel dimensions and destroying reality. 10/10 game, it was really really fun and gave me a sense of strange nostalgia for a game i've never played :)
Thank you for the kind words joonko! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, we've been trying to keep up the momentum and hopefully you find the game even more fun after our update earlier today! :)
This game is both hilarious and INSANE!!! played it until reality collapse lololol
This is my favorite game ive played so far this jam! vibes are excellent, pacing is great, very satisfying to slice the fruit I think I reached a genuine flow state slicing fruit at a certain point. A suggestion for this game would be perhaps to switch out the player's mouse cursor to something that stands out more, because at times I found it hard to see where my cursor was with all the fruit lol. Excellent work though I had a great time.
Hi benjtek01, we pushed a big update earlier today which includes cursor customization. We plan to have cursors that provide special functions to the player, but the visuals are implemented - you can now toggle between the system cursor and larger custom cursor variants with a side panel in-game.
Awsome! :0 Can't wait to check it out
